My name is Justin McGeary, and I am an educator at heart. For me, it is those "Aha" moments students have when they see dots connecting between their learning and life that help me get out of bed in the morning.

I teach at a small Christian college and a local homeschool coop, while also an instructor at the Author Conservatory. My interest in teaching goes back to middle school and high school, when my pastor showed me richness of Scripture's teaching on creation and redemption as unified parts of the Bible's whole story. This instilled in me an awe and love for God, his world, and learning. Also, being home educated, my parents encouraged wonder and understanding over grades and accolades. Since then, I have been a life-long student first, and only because of that a teacher. Learning is about wisdom, and I hope that is the case for my students. This is a huge part of why I started Trinity House Tutorials, to provide educational opportunities that bring together a love of learning and the Triune God.

My undergraduate studies were in English and American Literature, and I have completed graduate work in history and theology (degrees from American and British graduate schools). During my undergraduate studies, I spent a semester at Oxford where I enjoyed the tutorial system as it expanded (by some stretching) my ability to learn and think, and I heard lectures on C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, Augustine, and many other favorite authors.

Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the Vrije Universiteit (Free University) Amsterdam and Union School of Theology in Wales. My areas of interest focus on 19th century American religious and intellectual history, but I like to read about a lot of other things and have taught a range of subjects from ancient history to biblical interpretation to essay composition.

My writing has appeared in Modern Reformation, The Religious Studies Review, and Reading Religion. I have also interviewed a number of  scholars on the New Books Network.

I am also a husband and father and love to spend time with my family. We especially love reading out loud and going for walks. I enjoy playing sports, especially basketball and soccer.
